Frequently Asked Questions

Does insurance cover my procedures?

Most health insurance does not cover procedures which they consider to be cosmetic in nature. Should you be have a treatment in our office which is covered by your health insurance we can prepare a receipt for your payment which can be submitted to your carrier to request reimbursement.

Does Laser Esthetica take credit cards? Which ones?

Laser Esthetica takes payment in the form of Cash, Check, Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) or CareCredit.

What if I can’t make an appointment during the day?

We understand that some patients are unable to make an appointment during our normal hours of operation. We do try to accommodate all of our patients’ schedules by offering additional hours twice a month – we schedule one Saturday each month and one Late Night each month (normally on a Monday evening).

Should you still need additional scheduling assistance, please do not hesitate to ask.

Why would I see Dr. Prasad instead of going to a general Dermatologist?

Some procedures can cause a minor amount of discomfort. We do take every measure to keep you as comfortable as possible during your treatment. Depending on the procedure you have requested, the application of a topical numbing agent, pain-blocking injections, ice, etc. can be utilized. Should you have questions on the comfort of a specific procedure, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Should I wear anything special for my appointment?

Most treatments are performed in our office without the need for any specific change in attire. We do have robes and drapes should you have any concerns regarding your clothing.

How long will my procedure take?

Treatments have different durations. Feel free when making your appointment to ask about the estimated length of time you will be in our office. Most treatments range between 15 – 30 minutes; longer if you are combining treatments.

Can I return to work after my procedure?

This normally depends on you. Most treatments would not keep a patient from returning to work. If you experience redness or a minor discomfort after your treatment, you may opt to stay out of the public eye, but that is completely up to you. In this situation, most patients apply a bit of powder and go…
