Why is Fractional Resurfacing beneficial?
Fractional laser skin treatments give excellent results for skin resurfacing and when correcting skin conditions, including scars, fine lines and wrinkles, superficial lesions, epidermal nevi, and keratoses.
Dr. Prasad has used this treatment successfully on many patients with acne scars and for the crepiness around the eye and mouth areas.

Traditional full-surface ablative laser skin treatments (such as the CO2 laesrs) are performed using a beam of intense laser energy that is passed over the entire skin surface to vaporize the entire top layer of skin. The fractional treatment delivers laser or high-powered light energy in a pattern similar to the pixels on your TV screen.
The fractional pattern leaves untreated areas of skin between the treated areas of skin. As these treated areas are much smaller than the surrounding healthy tissue, the healing time is significantly shortened. This treatment causes the body to produce its own collagen as a reaction to the skin treatment thereby helping with the texture of the skin.
What is the downtime for Fractional Resurfacing?
Fractional skin treatments do not cause this type of skin destruction and therefore patients can go back to normal activity within a few days.
What specific technologies are available for Fractional Resurfacing?
In our clinic, we have two fractional resurfacing energies available – CO2 and Erbium. Both of these technologies help with resurfacing and our used to clear skin. With little or no downtime for patients, our fractional non-ablative lasers provide skin resurfacing treatments with high efficacy and comfort, for real “wow!” results.
