Mole Removal

Do you have moles on your face or body that you find unappealing? In addition to being unsightly, moles can also be a cause for worry as some moles are a sign of skin cancer. Many patients prefer to have moles on the face and body removed early on to help prevent them from growing any bigger.
Most moles on the body and face are benign, but some develop into cancerous growths. This can be checked only with the help of a biopsy. Having your moles removed with the help of the Ellman radiofrequency machine will help you look and feel better about yourself.
What are moles?
Moles and skin tags are extra deposits of skin that can occur anywhere on the body as we age. Moles most commonly appear on the face and skin tags commonly appear on the neck. Another commonly occurring lesion are seborrheic keratosis, a thickening of the skin which occurs on the back, sides and abdomen, especially near the bra line.
Moles can sometimes be present for years and grow very slowly, or sometimes they can grow overnight. They are usually round, colorless and smooth. Skin tags are extra skin that is deposited by the body.
How Are Moles Removed?
While there are a several options for mole removal, at Laser Esthetica we believe that the best option is the Ellman radiofrequency machine to ablate the unwanted lesions. After cleaning the skin, the area is anesthetized with a local anesthetic. Once the skin is numb, the lesions are removed layer by layer using the radio frequency energy.
What is the recovery time?
Patients can shower the same day and return to work straight away. The area treated for lesion removal will remain red from one to three months on average, depending on the natural coloring of the skin (those with a fairer complexion will see a more pinkish coloring and have minimal scarring).
Wearing sunscreen everyday to prevent further sun damage is very important after your mole removal procedure. You should also keep the area covered for the duration of the healing process for the best cosmetic results.
