Well, I did not have a problem with excessive sweating. I wanted the treatment because I had that slight underarm odor that necessitated deodorants on a regular basis – not enough for others to notice but enough for me to notice. HOW DOES miraDry® WORK?
miraDry® is an FDA-approved system that delivers precisely controlled energy to the sweat glands, reducing them non-invasively. Because the sweat glands do not come back or regenerate after treatment, the results are lasting.
Once it is decided that you are a proper candidate for miraDry®, you will be scheduled for treatment. The underarm will be marked with an ink grid, then anesthetized using a local anesthetic. The miraDry® handpiece is placed on multiple spots on the axilla to target the sweat glands to achieve decreased sweating.
For optimal results, most patients require two treatments, spaced three months apart. The procedure takes about one to one-and-a-half hours.*

DON’T I NEED MY UNDERARM SWEAT GLANDS?
Your body contains over four million sweat glands, with only about two percent of them located in the underarms. Your body will still be able to properly cool itself even after removing this two percent.
